This is the ORIGINAL "Home" artwork mixed media sculpture by MAJ Christina Helferich-Polosky, USA Retired, based on the poem of the same name written by Col Lisa Carrington Firmin, USAF Retired. This artwork is a three-dimentional sculpture made out of food-grade tamales. However, they have been prepared by an extensive process (over 24 hours soaked in bleach, then dried for another 24+ hours, then dried by clothing dye, not food dye, and more extensive soaking and drying times) so that this sculpture can be displayed without molding.
